Best Garden Vacuum UK is the Numatic George

In this video, you’ll see me and my son (who was then a three-year-old) and also a Numatic George fanatic clean our Artificial Grass Lawn with Numatic George Vacuum aka Hoover. In my opinion, after using Dyson, Vax and another cheaper vacuum brand that I’ve totally forgotten the name of I reckon the Numatic George is by far the best!

Why is the Numatic George the Best Garden Vacuum

Well compared to all of the others this vacuum really does have the best suction. It’s effortless to pull behind you, and it sucks up both dry debris and wet too. It’s so easy to use that my three-year-old son takes over and teaches me how it’s supposed to be done.

Pro’s

  • Easy to navigate and move around
  • Easy to empty
  • Sucks up wet debris
  • Has availability for extra long (9m) hose
  • Has plenty of tools
  • Sucks up garden moss, water, dirt

Con’s

  • It doesn’t like wet leaves, they get stuck leaving you with little suction and need to be poked

How old do you need to be to operate a George Numatic Vacuum?

In this video, you’ll see Alfie when he was three years of age. He could operate the George vacuum with ease. And of course, all kids love the Numatic vacuum range from the most popular Henry vacuum or Henry hoover as some people call it.

What are the Names and Colours of all the Numatic Vacuums in the range?

I’ll post a video for you to watch that explains very well the names of all the Numatic vacuums and the colours that accompany them. I have found a few that differ in a variation of colour but the ones listed below are the most common.

  • Henry is Red
  • George is Green
  • James is Yellow
  • Hetty is Pink
  • Charles is Light Purple
  • John is Green
  • Lewis is Dark Purple

Why is the Numatic Henry vacuum also called Henry Hoover?

Why does a Vacuum get called a Hoover

The reason for the mix up to why people call the Henry vacuum a Henry Hoover dates back to the 20th Century. Back then a vacuum company called Hoover (UK) / Hoover (USA) took control of the market outselling every other vacuum brand. In doing so mostly everyone turned to call a vacuum a hoover.

I grew up in the 80s thinking a vacuum was a hoover. It was only in later life I learned about why people make this mistake.

Did you make this same mistake?

Why Hoover shouldn’t ever have to Advertise

The answer to this related to them taking control of the market in the 20th century. Because of this generations of families across the world have grown up thinking of a vacuum as a Hoover. Due to this when you need a new hoover or vacuum a high percentage still automatically think of Hoover the brand.
